A memory of Devin & Zen

(Btw they were around 13 at this time)

“Z, would you please stop...?” Devin asked, nervously.
“Why?” She responded, walking carelessly along the edge of the cliff. He looked at her blankly.
“Cuz you’re gonna fall...”
“Annnddddddddd what is the problem with that?” She continues walking, watching as her feet touch the very edge, one after the other.
“Cuz you’d die.” He responded. His expression and voice seem blank, but he’s obviously nervous.
She looks at him and keeps walking without even looking where her feet are landing.
“Andddddddddddddd... what? Why does that matter?” She asked, sarcastically. Devin just stares at her blankly. Zen looked back down at the ground and mumbles.
“No one would miss me anyway...”
“...I would....” He responded, seeming to becoming more nervous. She stopped walking walking and looked at him.
“Yeah... I know...” She looked at the ground and steps away from the cliff. “I was kidding”
“Okay...” He grew a bunch of vines behind him and sat down on them. They shifted around him to make a seat.
“Can you grow me som’n? I’m hungry.”
He chuckled at her request. “Aren’t you always hungry??”
She immediately gave him the death glare.
“OkayOkay!” He laughed. “No need to be cranky!” He held out his hand and slowly plants grew on it. Quickly a lemon formed and he tossed it to her, smirking.
“Bruh.. I can’t eat a fricken lemon!!” She smirks and instantly threw the lemon at him with quite a bit of force.
“Ack!” He exclaimed at it hit him and knocked him off of his chair of vines. He started laughing as he sat back up. “Okay Okay I’ll get you something!” He smirked back at her and legit starts naming things she doesn’t like.
“How bout a lime? Banana? Plantain? Coconut? Cashews? Broccoli? Pepper? Green beans?”
“How bout you remain conscious for the next two minutes?” She glared as him and raised her fist. He started chuckling.
“Okay okay. How about a pear?” He asked, still chuckling lightly.
“Fine... But be glad that I only have a mild hate for you.” Zen responded, flatly, but sarcastically.
He starts growing the pair and smirks at her.
“It’s only mild, huh?” He took the pair and tossed it to her. “Would have expected disdain.”

Imma give a little background for people who don’t know. Zen is not cruel, she just picks on people she’s close with and actually likes 😎👌
Alsoooooooo if you didn’t know, Zen and Devin are childhood friends... They were friends from around age 10 to age 21 or 22... but something happened... and Devin disappeared for 12 years...
