personally when i draw hands i make the palm a box and start by making the fingers lines (all 3 jointed, except for the thumbs kinda) from short to long is pinky, thumb, pointer, ring, and middle, after i flesh it out by making cylinders (or rectangles) for each section of the finger, and then i shape them a bit more and add details such as the knuckles
