I hate people like this. They deny your solutions, and you end up feeling like shit when you can't help them. You're not in the wrong here, not one bit. Mathew just seems like an attention seeker. You're right. You're not his therapist, and you shouldn't have to feel obligated to try and help. What I would do is tell "Mathew" that you won't always be there to help him, that he needs to turn to therapy because you might not always have a solution for everything. You could also tell him that some of the things he does makes you uncomfortable.. and that you'd like to remain mutual. If you do say those things, I would try and block him since I personally think he'd try to apologize a lot, but end up repeating the cycle when you stay 'friends' with him. I'm sorry this is going on, people like Mathew are just.. really creepy and weird, so I hope anything I said could help in some way! <:- )
