Also make sure not to use too MUCH cross hatching… there’s a fine line between a busy and a cluttered drawing, and overusing cross hatching can make the drawing look cluttered ^^

Tho I would recommend only using black if you’re going to cross hatch, otherwise it can look very messy. To get a “lighter” look with pure black cross hatching just use looser hatching if that makes sense, and use tighter hatching for dark areas
