Because the father was treating Estrella and her mom like servants. One night Estrella's mother accidentally spilled wine on him (the father had weapons and he had a knife that night) the father stabbed her until she died. A day after her funeral Estrella was tired of her being controlled. So she ran away, soon she found out her father in jail for 8 years. After she found out, she started making plans on how to take him down (kill him) and ig got u to help along the way (this is the best thing I can come up with hope u like it :3)

Estrella's dad is in jail for murdering her mom. And Estrella wants revenge by killing her father.
