So this is sorta what I understand about nato

Protection
Protecting Europe and things
Ex: if the USSR wanted west Germany or West Berlin if they tried to invade, all the countries in nato witch includes some big boi countries like USA and Canada and l o t s of European countries. all of the countries in nato would fight against the Soviet Union to protect Germany or the countries that still exist

And today now that the USSR is. D e a d nato still protects countries against Russia ex: Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia (that’s why the Baltic’s call nato a n d. E u their parents)
