Is drawing with your hands really that bad?

I see people complaining all the time about how hard it is to draw with your fingers on your phone. Well, I draw with a ipad useing my fingers which im assuming is basically the same thing, and I've never had any issues. Sure, your finger hurts after awhile, but even though the achy feeling is anoying, my animations and drawings normally turn out great dispit this. So whats the big deal?
