In april 18th 2000 candice tiara elmore was separated from her family at the age of 5 she was later udopted by jean newmaker changeing candace's last name to newmaker. Candice was allegedly unruly with her adopted parents destroying things and fighting outher child she was later diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder. Jean then discovered attachment experimental therapy in an attempt to reattach candice to her adopted mother she was taken from north Carolina to Colorado whare jean paid 7000$ for a two week course of attachment therapy with colal watkins and judy ponda. The procedure was ment to simulate BIRTH candace was placed under pillows and sat on by four adults with the simple instructions to "free herself" she was asked over and over "do you want to be born or do you aant to die?". Candice would cry out she was dying to witch watkins would respond. "you want to die ok go ahead die right now" ponda would go on to mock candice and say " QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUITER QUIT QUIT QUITER shes a quiter". 40 minutes into the procedure candice said her very last words "no" only 70 minutes into the procedure did the free candice to find out that she was unconscious blue her lips and fingertips and not breathing surprisingly Watkins was unmoved to see an unconscious child going on to say "oh there she is sleeping in her vomit" paramedics where able to restore candicees pulse when she was flown from a helicopter in dinver to a hospital. She was declared brain dead the next day do to affixia and taken off life support in april 18th 2000 both watkins and ponda where charged with wreckless child abuse and sentenced to 16 years in prison. Jean newmaker pleaded guilty to neglect and abuse charges and was given a 4 year sentence in after which the charges were off here record watkins was paroled in june 2008 under intensive supervision with restrictions on contact with children or counseling work haveing only served 7 years of her 16 year sentence......
