The lava lake.

A man comes across a lava lake. He is too focused on the other side of land which makes him almost fall. He uses a stick that build itself into the shape you need w/bends, twists, and turns. The stick breaks/w too much weight and almost falls again. An evil guy forms and as he is running away, he gets captured by him, but he gets thrown to the other side. That happens as another goes and saves him.
