Dash’s nightmare

It was the dream again. Third night in a row. Why was I so paranoid? Rider can look after himself. Can’t he? It was always the same. I fall asleep, and see him and me, when he was young, but I can’t see his eyes. And then there’s a flash, and he’s gone. And I wake up in terror. I guess I’m just worried that what happened to... Dad, could happen again. Rider tells me I need to get over it. ‘The past is in the past,’ I recall him saying. ‘I wish it never happened, but it did, so we need to grow stronger from it.’
