My biggest flaw

My trust issues cause me to block myself from letting people in so much thst I tend to break connections before letting them start so I won’t have to deal with letting them go but yet when someone tells me about this flaw or points it out then I make promises I can’t keep meaning that I say I will let them in and I won’t let them go before it starts but just now the person I really kept the promises too turned me out
What did I do wrong?
