Why the guest rooms are called the red rooms

When Jackie was a kid he slept in one of the red rooms and his sister in the other.. they used to see red things in the rooms that were never there and the knife hanging on the wall was always dripping red liquid but nobody touched it... The reason they saw red things was because their dad was a scientist and made a drug.. the “Rose Drop” as he called it and he fed it to Jackie and his sister what it does is it makes you see red things like Flowers, Blood, etc.. so Jackie and his sister were their dad’d Lab Rats and were made to be tested on

The Knife however is nit explained it just drips constantly

Their dad also beat them in the red rooms so occasionally blood would be on the floor........
