One. Ik what has happened with them being quite frankly rude.
Two. I believe that yes, they were in the wrong. Yet still I will not name names. But the person who leaked this person's name with the intent of stirring up hate was in the wrong.
If a person is in the wrong then yes, talk to them. Dont blindly insult them- show them or talk to them pointing out to them what they did was wrong-
Dont just send hate their way. Try to teach them to be better then that.
Side note. Yes I have seen what they've commented, yes it was rude, yes it was wrong. But to me it seemed like they were honestly stating and opinion. Now look if a person is harassing or attacking someone cussing at them. Dont hesitate to knock them flat on their ass and talk some sense into them. Ik I may not be as big as some of the popular animators but still.
