More random edgy poetry I wrote a while ago

Perhaps the clouds will take me away
Perhaps my eyes’ll see another day
Perhaps the storm calms before I land
And gentle tides, take me by the hand

Maybe the clouds will blow gently again
Maybe my storms will come to an end
Maybe these questions will go unknown
As I watch for ground below

The ground looks soft from way up here
So how come I can feel no fear?
Why does my own mind betray me?
And hide the truth that I wish it to be?

Once past the point of no return
My fears and thoughts are suddenly turned
I could have slipped at any time
But a leap of faith was my true crime

What if the wind is truly me falling?
What if the wind drowns out the calling?
And what if I could only see
What truly lies right beneath me

My own mind blinded me from really knowing
That the wind was barely blowing
But on that mountain that I made
A raging storm forced me to stay

But, no. The truth comes
When it is too late
The end is nigh
And my thoughts soon abate
