A memory of Garri's

(Also... For the people who don't know... Garri is my adorable, 7 year old unintroduced oc)
(I've used him quite a few times but I haven't officially introduced him yet)

Garri lay on the floor in a dusty, old, grimy room playing with two old worn out stuffed animals. He lay there for a long time, having the stuffed animals interact and talk to each other... Slowly night fell and the room began growing cold. Of course at first he didn't notice, because he was busy entertaining himself, but soon the temperature dropped even more. He shivered.
He sat up and pulled both of the stuffed animals against him under one arm. He stood up and waddled over to the door, pushing it open with his free hand. He wandered down the hall, with the old wooden floor creaking underneath his tiny little feet. He reached the dark living room, where a young woman was sitting on an ancient looking couch, rapped in an old blanket, staring at a laptop that was sitting on her lap. The young boy waddled over to her and awkwardly climbed up onto the couch. The woman set the laptop to the side and looks at Garri, smiling.
"Hey, buddy..." She said, softly, opening up the blanket and rapping him inside of it. "Are you cold....?"
A moment later he poked his head out of the opening of the blanket and nods, quickly snuggling in on his mothers lap.
"Okay..." She smiles, gently and raps her arms around him. He closed his eyes and relaxes, and seemed to be falling asleep.
The woman brought one hand out of the blanket and looked at the laptop screen. She used her free to type and use it. After a few minutes she closed and laptop and moved her hand back around Garri.
After a few moments had pasted she suddenly coughed. She moved her arm up to cover the cough and it was followed by a few more coughs, each coming from deep inside her chest.
"Mommy...?" Garri asked, tiredly opening his eyes. "A-Are you okay...?"
"Yeah..." She smiled gently at her son. "I'm fine, Garri..."
He lay his head back down and closed his eyes.
"O-Okay, m-mommy..."
