It is a slur, it is
Racist
It’s not cute or funny, it’s literally fucking racist.
It’s a slur from how back in the day, we made propaganda of the mostly the Japanese, calling them vermin; rats.
It was to dehumanize them and caused many Japanese people to experience brutal racism.
Also even before all this, the US called the Chinese people rats when the government for the US had started.
