Tat tat tat tat....creeeeeeak a noise upon my door and a screech in rising my throat what is the noise....is it is it true has the maiden come for my soul? ‘‘Tis legend told of a maiden with a heart of gold. Yet.....her heart was gold no more. For in this very forest I stand the maiden was banned. As legends state the maiden was trapped in a fog of no escape. And now the maiden needs a soul to take. Yet every soul can escape....a screech and tat a creak and a smack....the stories turned from once beautiful to now horrible. I lay in my bed trying to hold my dread for has the maiden come for my head? As the maiden once roamed the area called dark wood the forest was surly dark indeed. A fog came in and out in and out.....like someone breathing down the spines of the people who roam into this forbidden land....the fog will thin then thicken as the herself the maiden roamed but never made it. For the fog had taken the one precious maiden....”OH” the maiden screeched as the fog drew closer in and out in and out. She struggles to get free yet her leg started bleed. With the smell of sweet maiden blood the creatures big and small chant “come one come all....” as she struggled to get free and the creatures closing in from the trees. Shadows of humans from years ago come in faster than those of their foes. Hands cold as the ice and dark as the night leach on to her shoulders dragging her down. As the creatures came in and smelled their human foes they attack the maiden in rose. Cracks screams and howls can be heard from where the maiden was lured. And all who heard was surly cursed. And she was dragged away from her tree she laid. And only bones that weren’t broken were left....”it’s it’s gone!” As I jump out of bed I then realize as I dreamed about the maiden in dark wood tale my body left was stale. And a another screech has been made maybe she found more prey.....
