he was born into a family of volleyball players who became successful
he was born into following their footsteps
being on a team, he was a great player yknow, but then he slowly began to perfect everything and overwork himself. from before, when playing volleyball, he always had a light in his eyes but then he began to overwork himself, the light was gone. his eyes, he looked empty inside. he was hurting so bad.
hirugami had a great ability but he started to not like volleyball anymore, he started to dislike it.
walking home one day, we see him thinking to himself, overthinking a small mistake he did. his hand. he did a mistake and he was frustrated with himself, hirugami then began to drag his hand across the concrete sharp wall, as a punishment. then we see hoshiumi stop him, confused as to what he is doing, but this is hirugami first formally meeting hoshiumi, hoshiumi was already on the team, but besides that, meeting hoshiumi was the best thing possible. something beautiful happens: hirugami gains the light that he once had in his eyes again. the two became great friends and were there for each other always. hirugami during the kamomedai vs karasuno match, states “he isn’t too wrapped up in all of this”
