Shade

Shade is a spawn of the shadows, created to cover the world in ‘Black Doom’, a substance created in the darkest realm that will destroy all it touches. However, at the peak of this plan, it’s believed a goddess of light had put her power into Shade, making them a protector of order, and peace. The dark rulers had been ultimately destroyed, or so we thought. As a gift to Shade for his contribution to ending the scheme, they were given a chance at a normal life, and was reborn as a human. It is the modern age, things are great and humans have evolved and quality of life couldn’t be better. Shade now lives with a happy family in New York, and is named Kenneth. However, the Dark Rulers have mustered all their power, and have corrupted innocent souls with their remaining power, in an attempt to revive themselves, they attempt to reawaken Shades power, however they only bring back his power...
One night, Kenneth tries to sleep, but feels like something is watching him, he sees glowing eyes in the corner of his room, he runs to the mirror, they follow. It’s his, shadow? No, it was too unnatural, this shadow had white, glowing eyes, you could see it’s very soul... Kenneth noticed the same thing in his own eyes, an unexplained ring of light, surrounded in inky black. This is where Kenneth realizes his power and starts his journey to defeat the evil once again...
And I hope you liked this backstory, I’m not that good at writing but I tried.
