Also, I'd now like to explain what a Kage(pronounced kah-gey) is, and how Zerø/Alex died and became one.
You see, Kages are a type of ghost. All Kages are pitch black and have no 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 eyes, and they do not age; they stay the same age that they died at for eternity(Zerø/Alex is 17). They also get named after a number when they first turn into a Kage. Kages can travel through shadows, levitate and fly around, and become invisible. People only become Kages when they die without finishing what they wished to have accomplished in life. If you turn into a Kage after dying, there's no way for your soul to be freed like with other people who have achieved their life goals; you must stay trapped on earth as a Kage forever.

Now to explain Alex's backstory:
Alex was somebody who never really accomplished anything special, but still tried and hoped. And if there was one thing that Alex wanted to achieve, it was to win the heart of Mimi Lackstar, a girl he went to school with. He had loved Mimi since the beginning of his first year in high school. But one day when Alex went to confess to her, Mimi revealed to him that she was secretly a psychotic killer. She killed Alex right then and there, and he woke up as a Kage. He was given his new name "Zerø/Zero", to represent how many important things he had achieved throughout life.
