Brittle Star’s Story part #5

Brittle fur when on the patrol party and afterwards, the decided to just go back to camp. The next day at sun high, they went on another patrol to fill in for yesterday. When they had been out for 10 mins, they heard yowls and howls and barking. They ran over to find a dog biting moon Star’s neck. Brittle fur didn’t fight, scratch or even nibble that dog. The other two attacked for her but in that moment, brittle fur’s mind was nothing but emptiness. Brittle fur shed a tear and decided to kill that dog no matter what. Even if it meant her life. Her eyes were narrowed as she outstretched her claws and she tackled the huge Labrador. Her bit, clawed, even blinded the dog and after a while, killed it. She padded back to camp covered in wounds but barely felt the pain. Brittle fur stood on the high rock and called a meeting. The cats below looked confused. “I have come back from a patrol. She began. “And she found and killed a dog. The dog killed moon Star before we had the chance to save her. Because I’m the deputy, I will be your new leader and you will all call me by the name, “Brittle Star.” She spoke. Every cat below her had their heads dipped. “Before I travel to the moon stone to receive my 9 lives, I must pick a deputy.” She mewed scanning every cat underneath her. “I have chosen Echo Leap to be the deputy.” She said pridefully but blankly. “If that’s everything, then this meeting is dismissed.” She mewed. She sat down before she went to the moon stone. Swift pelt nudged her a bit but not even that cheered her up. She only thought of moon Star.
