Art Style + OC Idea for MochaStrawberry (Plus a little rant) (┳◇┳)
Please ignore how messy it looks. I graduated yesterday and just woke up (・∀・｀*)
Also, this is a one time thing and I will not be doing this for anyone else. This was just to show how you can change your art style and still have it look decent.
Rant:
I don’t like people copying my art style or OCs and it’s really irritating seeing it. I’ve had to address this before and it’s noticeable when someone uses my art as inspiration. It’s quite blatantly obvious. Please do not copy my art style or OCs. As much as I can take it as a compliment, it’s really just annoying to see sometimes. I like to help other artists, but I get discouraged when I see people take that advice and just shove it to the side and try to pass my art style off as their own. Of course, not everything I do is going to be just part of my art, but when there are too many elements of my OCs or art style in someone else’s, it’s kind of noticeable and they usually don’t credit me or where they got their ideas from. As artists, please, just don’t do that just out of respect. Thank you (꒦ິ⍸꒦ິ)
Anyway, for those struggling, this post kind of shows changes and things you can do to experiment. I used:
1. Thicker lines for the lineart and a different lineart color
2. Tried a whole new art style out
3. Gave all the shading a more purple hue
4. Changed how the highlights look in the hair and eyes
5. Shortened the anatomy and didn’t make it super detailed
Just experiment and try something new. Try not to reference others too much and take time to doodle DIFFERENT art styles without using a reference and just go with which one is most comfortable (∗ᵕ̴᷄◡ᵕ̴᷅∗)՞
