Mochi’s Classroom: Sexualization vs. Just Curvy (๑ᵉ̷͈◡ॢᵉ̷͈๑)Üfu♡
This is a new series I’m starting. In the comments, you can ask for tutorials, my opinions on specific topics, and clarification on different subjects.
Today’s topic is about the sexualization of women.
The main points are in the post, but to elaborate, sexualizing something means to make it appear more sexual in nature. For example, if I took an anime character and put it into a bikini, that’s not sexualizing it as bikinis aren’t inherently a sexual thing on it’s own. The context of a drawing is what makes something “sexualized”.
If I were to draw that same character in a bikini and a suggestive pose, however, then that would be considered sexualization.
Bigger chests on women are not sexualization on it’s own unless a character is ‘changed’ to have a bigger chest, thus meaning the original design has been altered in order to look a way that is seen as sexually appealing ʅ(*´◡`)ʃ
I hope that clears it up 〜(^∇^〜)
Big chest ≠ Sexualization
Sexualization = To make sexual (aka changing something’s context to make it seem sexual or suggestive in meaning)
Also, woah, Blake can actually draw something that doesn’t look like blobs? Yes, but he’s a lazy person, so he rarely puts in effort (ᗒᗨᗕ)
