How I draw dreadlocks, braids and Afros

since I’ve done a video before on how I draw hair so I thought it’d be nice to include more ethnic hairstyles!

Glossed over the coloring stages, i didn’t do anything special but I will say, coloring the braids really make them look like yknow braids- you don’t have a to make each individual braid look like a braid just make them look sort of defined and add details to those braids that stick out the most, if that makes sense

Afro’s are for me generally not difficult, it’s most often a variant of a circle but of course comes in different forms as well and then you add texture and perhaps lil coils that stick out

Dreadlocks has similar steps to braids as ya probably noticed but the shading and size makes them different, they are also more shapeable in a way, that’s why I draw the base for the dreads very rectangular and blocky

Remember I’m not a professional don’t take my words to heart. I am just showing you how I do things and it might help you somehow I dunno we’ll see !
