She took her things
Packed them up while I slept
I was dreaming dreams
Of the us in the past
The us that shined
Brighter than the stars
But all stars fade someday,
As did ours.

She took one of the keys off the chain
She walked to the frontdoor
Placed her hand on the knob; hesitates
Considering us before
The us that smiled, the young, the new
Sharing expieriences, creating some too...
She just sighed,
Turned the knob...
And before I knew it, she was gone.

What could I have done
To keep you from moving on?
They say, "if you love her, you'll just let her go"
I do, but even though
I want you to be happy, I don't want to be sad
Remember all the memories that you and I had
I know we stopped trying, this fire is dying
But that's why there's gas...

I want you to be happy, but that means I'll be sad
You're all I ever wanted, and you're all that I had...
I hope one day, across the seas

And might come back...
