James Buchanan is most famous for being the last president before the stat of the Civil War. Although he tried to prevent war, many of his policies ended up dividing the Union even further. James was born in a log cabin in Pennsylvania and still is the Worst President in US History.
Abraham Lincoln is famous for the Gettysburg Address, abolishing slavery and being one of the four presidents who have been assassinated. Lincoln served four terms in the legislature, becoming floor leader of his party. At the same time, Lincoln was studying law, taking and passing the bar in 1836.
and President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." it means that all of the Southern slaves will be free from Slavery but did not Abolished some states.
Andrew Johnson is the 17th president of the United States serving from 1865 to 1869. He assumed the presidency as he was vice president at the time of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Johnson was a Democrat who ran with Lincoln on the National Union ticket, coming to office as the Civil War concluded.
and still reguarded as becoming the first Democrat from Tennessee to be elected to the United States Congress. He joined a new Democratic majority in the House of Representatives, declaring that slavery was essential to the preservation of the Union.
