Well, there some villains like Bowser, some people like Bowser more because they think he might be the REAL good guy and Mario's the villain, and King Dedede, Who's trying his best to try and defeat Kirby just for once.

They also might like Monika because lots of people want to find out the “truth” about the bame, and they like to use her as a big help

There are some villains that I can understand that can be liked more than the protagonist itself, but Monika kind of takes it a little too far.
