idk

It would make sense if a bigger nation would get heavy casualties but most of the deaths were inexperienced soldiers who joined the Army and were forced by their loyal comrades to attack. That explains how Uruguayan have most of the Casualties I know that bigger nations equal more casualties but it's not like it happens every war tho.

I didn't said it's unrealistic tho, cuz somehow mostly world wars the bigger nation gets more casualties than the bigger or stronger one

idk

I didn't mean this to look unrealistic but the Uruguayan have suffered massive casualties not because of supplies and diseases. They attack without support making them suffer massive fatalities. So it isn't that unrealistic most of the deaths are by assaults and attacks.
