My thoughts on the sonic movie (minor spoiler alert)
I'm gonna try to keep the spoilers down to a minimum for those who still haven't watched the movie
To be fair, I already held my expectations low after how mediocre the first movie turned out.
I'll just set this straight:
Everything about the plot that actually had value to the whole movie was absolutely fantastic
Ssdly that is not as much as I wanted it to, and with 2 hours of screentime that really shouldn't be a problem..
The animation is top-notch, I even noticed a little more squash and stretch, maybe because marza worked on it
A bit of a personal rant but the german dub actors are kinda clunky sometimes
The ending animations were really nice, big improvement over the first movies animation
The story felt fitting for the movie, but they did not have to give so much time to the wedding imo, doesn't really serve a purpose in the long run except for randomly being close to the temple
I really like the referrences from mean bean machine to sonic 4 believe it or not, they're pretty sneaky and I never expected to hear It's Tricky in anything sonic-related
I think about everyone saw the post-credits scene from a mile away coming
That's about it
I'll give it an 8/10, could be better but it though seems as if SEGA and Paramount got the hang of how to make a movie based off of their flagship character, Let's hope for Nintendo to pull of their feat well enough too.
