The Rise and Fall of the German Empire | Part 2 | Western History Anime
The Dismissal of the Chancellor and Bastian of the German Empire Stability Bismarck. Wilhelm has finally removed his thorn on his side and could now pursue his dreams. The Policy after Bismarck has dramatically shifted. Wilhelm was frequently on Vacation and that coupled with a host with other ceremonial duties kept him away from ruling his Nation. Directly from most of the time therefore it could be blamed that the blame for certain disastrous policy decisions cannot be contributed directly by Wilhelm. It could be Certainly incorrect if Wilhelm and his influence had absolutely no hand in that matter. The Chancellors following Bismarck were somewhat more Administrators rather than experienced Politicians they have no choice but to follow Kaisers Will in fear of losing their jobs. This was no simple task since the Kaiser was frequently not in Berlin meaning that his wishes would not often be clear. Count of Oldenburg summed up the difficulties of working with the Kaiser quite nicely and a note from Bernard von Bulöw said
"Willhelm the Second takes everything personally and Only Personal Arguments make an impression on him. He likes to advise others but is unwilling to take it himself. He cannot stand boredom; ponderous, stiff, excessively through people get on his nerves and cannot get anywhere with him. Willhelm II wants to Shine and to do and decide everything for himself. What he wants to do for himself unfortunately often goes wrong. He loves Glory. He is ambiguous and jealous. To get him to accept an idea, one has to pretend that idea came from him."
During Bismarck's absence and carefully constructed systems of alliances had served Germany so well was allowed to fall. In 1887 the Reinsurance Treaty with Russia was broken this left Russia to Diplomatically improve Relations with France eventually this would lead to an Alliance that would fight Germany in World War 1 and Also made Germany and Austro- Hungarian relations greater and once again another key component that would lead into World War 1. Though the Farest change though through Bismarck Fall was the adoption of Weld Politics in 1897. This Policy was made to Focus Germany into a Great power not just in Europe but in the world through the acquisition of Overseas colonies and was speared headed by Bernard Von Below. Oldenburg remarked that Bernard was to Satisfy Germany and not hurt the Emperor. It was essentially saying that he wants to make Germany into a Great Power without Anyone above Kaiser. The extent that which this was achieved was still debatable but Germany was still able to gain certain colonies however they were hardly worth the money put into the effort. There were seven reasons why a sudden interest in the acquisition of a colonial empire. As Germany began to Industries in the mid-1870s there was a greater need for raw materials. Raw materials that could be easily sourced by colonies additionally German Nationalists felt that the only way for Germany to be a dominant power in Europe would be through Colonial Expansion for them it was a matter of prestige and began pressuring the government to focus on that direction. However in reality Velk Politics did not simply mean colonial games. It also involved the expansion of the Imperial German Navy which have then very noteworthy. In 1897 Alfred Fonterpitz Terpitz was appointed Secretary of the Navy and was tasked with its expansion. This of course posed a direct challenge to Great Britain, not only was Germany trying to make a Colonial Empire but it was also trying to make a navy sizeable like theirs. On top of that, it certainly did not help that the failure of the Jameson Raid was an attempt of the British to instigate a revolt in the Transvaad Republic. Wilhelm consented a Telegram to the President and congratulated him for repelling the Raid. And this Angered the British causing their Relations to Dramatically decrease. And this Failure of the Anglo-German Alliance. Britain was to look for an alliance elsewhere with France. In 1904 Britain signed the Anton Cordial ending Anglo-Franco Disputes with the stroke of a pen. This situation made Germany frightened without Bismarck Germany's Position is under threat and would escalate into the First World War.
