I don’t really pick at my ears, I kinda just cover them until the sound is over, I might press on them too, but that’s about it 🤷

I have that too, it’s not fun at all and my ears are pretty susceptible to sound and can sometimes cause me to pick at them when sudden or long loud noises happen, I don’t know if you get that but I’m glad you are able to understand and I’m glad I have someone to relate with

I just don’t like loud noises, especially sudden ones like fireworks that aren’t far away, or popping balloons, and I get really anxious when someone I respect for yells at me, like my dad or something, it’s kind of like the feeling of having soggy cheese and then watching a Japanese horror film
