White Star Line | Short History |

White Star Line is the Infamous Ocean Liner Company In the World and is known for creating the RMS Titanic. The White Star Line was first founded in 1845 but by 1869 the company was bankrupt. The trading name of the company, including its flag of a White Star on a red background, was sold to the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company for £1,000. The Company launched its first Vessel RMS Oceanic in 1870 and saw Success in its Maiden Voyage. The Company continued to expand throughout the Years seeing more Profits than its infamous Rival Cunard Lines. But when the Titanic Disaster Happened the Company's profits dropped and the Company never recovered because of that Incident. The Company Launched Two More Ships in the 1930s MV Georgic and MV Britannic. At that point, White Star Line was at its lowest and faced debt for the First time in its history, and had to sell a few of its Ships. The Company Merged with Cunard Lines forming Cunard White Star. The Cunard Sold White Star Line in 1949 ending its Existence for Good.
