Eastern Front | Battle of Kursk | Part 39

The Soviets defeated the Germans at the Battle of the Caucasus and saw the Germans falling back to their Positions. Adolf Hitler heard about an Allied Invasion of Sicily and was forced to Send reinforcements from France to Italy. And Hitler was completely desperate for a Battle that would make the Soviets Bleed and devised a Plan called Operation Citadel a Plan that would Change the Fate of the Eastern Front. The plan was to encircle the Soviet Army at Kursk and Continue their Advance. Stalin on the Other hand knew that it would happen and sented Reinforcements and Supplies to the City. the Germans commenced the Attack on July 5, 1943, but were eventually met by Heavy Soviet Fire from Land and Air. The South was doing Terribly and suffered Heavy Casualties and in the North, Walter Model Army was still advancing slowly but was bogged down by Soviet Tanks and had to Retreat the Soviets themselves Commenced Operation Kutuzov on July 12 and Pushed the Germans Back about 30 Miles.
