Story behind the mask:
This mask was a cursed item from who knows where. It has been repaired many times as to not anger whoever made it. It you damage the mask, you wake up at 3 am with the mask on, and it will turn red and slowly crush you. After that, it dissappears and goes to the next unlucky human. If you put it on, you will be filled with a sense of guilt and be almost unable to take it off.
In fact, some say the one who created it still resides within the mask, and his powers have been reserved as well....
