Update on my whole “hospital” accident./ Q n A
So I’m just going to say everything that happened, and give a few more details. After that I will just give an update and note.
So July 8, 2022 me and my dad crossed the road. One of those long ones, had 8 lanes of cars. As we were walking, the light changed and a car was coming up at about the same time, hitting the both of us at about 48 mph. My ribs were broken, skull was fractured, and my right femur was broken. My dad required stitches over his eye on on his left arm, and he broke his right arm. I think it’s safe to say I got the worst of the damage. I don’t remember the actual accident, but I was told what happened, and my dad remembers it. The scariest part was probably when I woke up and/or came into conciseness. It was like a scene from a movie, I see these doctors surrounding me on the stretcher/bed. I’m trying to find out what’s going on, and I look at my arms that have blood on them, and I have two IV’s in my arms. I heard that they weee talking about me and that I had to go into surgery. I didn’t have my glasses so everything was super blurry. I see my mom and, luckly, my SISTERTRR both above me for a while. I was going to be airlifted to the other hospital- but it was storming so we went in the ambulance, about a 40-50 minute drive. I remember the most of my pain in there. It was a long drive , bad traffic. The nurse was holding my hand (he was really nice) and while they did something with my leg idk I think they wrapped it up. I fell asleep or passed out- don’t remember, between then and when I got there. I was fully awake and really scared for surgery. I called my dad but he got there after my surgery was over. They told me, exact words, (or close hard to remember) “I’m going to be honest we need to do surgery now or you could actually die” I don’t remember being put to sleep btw 😭
Anyways had one more surgery on my birthday (10th) and they took out pins and but a permanent metal rod in my right thigh. Spent 13 days in hospital in all. We aren’t going to sue or do any of that to who hit us. It was rare, and just a freak accident. Bad perfect timing. Woke up after 2nd surgery with a decorated room and lo yesss of gifts. I was so happy. Anyways I think that’s about it, I can answer some and probably all questions in the comments if there are any.
I can’t walk without a walker yet, or fully bend my leg past a 75 degree. Left rehab today (July 21) and I go to overnight camp August 1-5th so hope I’m good enough to go then 😬😬😬. But I need to take a break from drawing/posting on the app. And I probably won’t be online a lot at all. If I get bored I may check up. Like I said.
