The Story of MTS Oceanos (1/3)

The MTS Oceanos was a French-Built Vessel with a Name ‘Jean Laborde’ and the Vessel went through several different owners and was acquired by the Epirotiki Lines and was renamed to the MTS Oceanos.

The Epirotiki Lines was founded by the mid-1800s and in the increasing cruise industry they took advantage of it and acquired the Oceanos. The Company became the Largest Cruise Line in the Eastern Mediterranean and Greece acquiring all types of passenger vessels. The Cruise industry was quite different than how it operates today many cruise line companies didn't have the capital to saud too much of a risk making new vessels so many companies decided to purchase older vessel then refitted them with the latest trends. And the Oceanos was no exception to this making regular cruises out of South Africa in the Late 80s and Early 90s.
