The Story of The MTS Oceanos (3/3)
Earlier on the Day Repairs have been made on the Ships Water Disposal system. A Very Important Pipe that intakes seawater to the vessel had its vital non-return valve not fully replaced. And it was believed that several freak waves slamming against the vessel the Pipes shell plating had burst open spilling ocean water and begun filling the compartment and eventually with that Waters going unnoticed had reached the ships propulsion engines and caused an Explosion, and the Oceanos immediately lost power and immediately Cruise Director Lorenne Bets Rushed over to the Bridge to find out what happened to the Ships Officers and by Now Captain Yiannis had assessed the Damaged Below decks and knew the Vessel was in serious trouble. With over 594 People onboard with Six Lifeboats it was enough for everyone onboard however with the rough ocean and the vessel slightly listing time was at the essence.
The Officers had been secretly trying to abandon the ship and almost all of them manage to escaped on the pitch black ocean. And some Entertainment Staff saw Captain Yiannis attempting to Escape with some Officers and they were pulled back onboard and at this Time the Oceanos had been tilting on it's side so badly that Launching any Lifeboats on that Moment was becoming Impossible or Risky, and Since the Crew had taken off with nearly half empty boats there was not enough seats for everyone onboard with over 220 People Onboard there was nothing to do but call for Help. Moss Hills and another entertainer went to the Bridge to sort out with the Captain. But the Problem was the Captain wasn't there, he was still in the ship holding on a pole completely uninvolved in the situation. And when the Moss and The Other Staff went on Bridge they found it almost completely deserted so it became completely up to them to basically save everyone onboard.
Luckily there were ships on the area and they later learned that the South African Air Force set up a multi helicopter rescue and by 6 AM the Passengers were forced to go out to the open decks and awaiting for their Helicopter Rescue around 4 Hours of Darkness the Helicopters had finally came and begun 20 Passengers at a Time and once they are full they have to travel back to shore where they would unload and refuel and repeat. And over the course of the few hours not a single soul had died on board and had been rescued by via-Helicopter and Inflatable Boats and all 571 Passengers had been off the vessel what seem like moments the Listing of the MTS Oceanos gone worsen and the Sinking Ship Worsen as Waves Washed over the Starboard Now then didn't take long the ship to sink here's the Video of the Ship's Sinking all caught on Camera.
