Your parents support OTHER gay/trans ppl, maybe even have a couple of friends who are gay/trans but when it comes to you they’re not supportive at all and say it affects THEM when you wanna go by a different name, so they make a ‘compromise’ to call you a shorter version of your deadname instead of just fucking calling you by your preferred name bc it “affects them” and apparently doesn’t affect YOU?
