Somthing that middle school boys don't understand! Emo and alt are different styles of clothing
Although they are very similar they do have some distinct differences. I personally prefer the alt style and have drawn many characters of mine wearing that type of clothing so yeah just because somebody wears black doesn't make them emo SO SURPRISING LIKE OMGGG!
