My opinion on MHA

My hero Academia isn’t a bad anime, it’s okay. The story is decent and the characters have interesting quirks, but I just hate the fandom. I hate how there is a large chunk of the community that is just toxic and just plain gross. There are endless nsfw fan fictions, fanarts, YouTube videos, etc. I also don’t understand the beauty standard the fans have. For example, we have Mineta. Everybody hates him because he’s a pervert, but if we take a look at Kaminari he acts almost the exact same! The fandom loves Kaminari, but since he is this beautiful character and since MinetA is the short odd ball everybody hates him? I think Mineta is much more interesting too. His quirk is more original. Anyone can think of lightning as a quirk. It’s such a popular power! For example, Shazam!, Static, Mikoto Misaka, Sailor Jupiter, Black Lightning, Flash, Thor, Azula, and hundreds more of characters! How many characters have purple sticky balls on their heads that regenerate? They make great defense! There are also characters like Todoroki, the most basic monotone, daddy issues, “dead” brother man. His entire design is basic, he has the most basic powers, and he has a basic backstory. His dad abused him and his siblings, one died, his mom went crazy, he got a scar, and then his father abused him some more. I also hate that we skip out of so many amazing characters, like Shouji and Aoyama. They have such unique quirks, and Aoyama is only just now getting some attention. I love his story, his parents making a stupid sacrifice, his design. He is so different and it makes him my favorite. Shouji is one of my other favorites, he looks amazing and his overall quirk is so much stronger than he is given credit for! Overall, I rate the story a 5/10, the characters a 6/10, and the fandom a 3/10, giving the final score of a 4.6/10. It’s a good anime for beginners, but not one I would personally watch again.
