Oh dear. They were on purpose, I wasn't sure what to make the background. I appreciate the constructive criticism. I'll try to do better on the following requests.

It looks great, my only complaint is the background lines. I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not but the background lines kind of work as leading lines that draw the viewers eye to the dragon, however the lines begin on the right side while the dragon's neck begins on the left side, so its kind of contesting for attention between the background lines and the dragons neck, and it may just be a me problem but that really throws me off.
