You can ignore it for a while
But it never goes away,
It never leaves you alone.

No matter
How much you try to shove it down, no matter how many times you lock it away into that little black box in the back of your mind,
It will always outgrow the little black box,
And take over your mind all over again.
That static you wish to block away,
It will always ring
Even when you aren’t aware.
That voice in the corner of your mind, at just the edge of your brain,
It will only grow louder and louder the more you ignore it.

“It’s time to let go.”
You whisper to yourself, doubting your own words.
You don’t want to let go. You can’t.
It hurts too much
And part of you will always whisper,
“You deserve to feel this way.”
When you wish you didnt believe this,
You know that it will always be true.
“You’re never going to get better,”
Shut up.
“You’ll never be as good as they are.”
𝘴𝘩𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘱.
“Try harder.”
Shut up shut up shut up
“Are you stupid?”
SHUT UP

You wish you could ignore it,
But you can only avoid it for so long.

And it eats away at you.
Every day, every hour every minute .
It consumes you,
it eats the light right out of your heart until there’s nothing left.
