I hate it when people try to defend characters that are obviously supposed to be in the wrong

I’m going to use the once ler from the Lorax as an example, I see a lot of people defending his actions by saying things like “well, he was pressured by his parents” likeee dude he still did what he did. He had a choice and chose the obvious wrong answer (nothing against the once ler btw it just gets annoying when people try to defend him because he looks like an emo Tumblr boy)

And I generally just don’t like how the movies try to display him as the victim he’s supposed to be the literal embodiment of greed, and they kinda ruined it! Still good movie though
