Why are people so mean?

So basically, somebody made like a spiderSona thing (if yk yk) and the character happened to be plus sized and people underneath the comments were straight up bullying them in the worst part is that the creator used to their own body type for that character.
It makes me really upset to see people be so rude about something that doesn’t even involve them
