Weekly Bible Verses (NIV) #1
Welcome, People today we have 5 verses that I will be breaking down for you, These verses are especially meant for teenagers and above as I want teens to overcome their emotional, and physical desires and help them grow spiritually, For this very first one I am going to talk about, Flapping, Rephrasing it, Jacking off, and why you need to be aware.
Exodus 20:14 (The Ten Commandments):
"You shall not commit adultery."
Colossians 3:5 - Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
1 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV) - "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body."
Hebrews 13:4 (NIV) - "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral."
Matthew 5:28 (NIV) - "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
So, these verses are talking about the importance of respecting your body and others' bodies, especially when it comes to sexual desires and actions.
In Exodus 20:14, "You shall not commit adultery," means you shouldn't be intimate with someone who isn't your husband or wife.
Now, in Colossians 3:5, when it says "Put to death... sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry," it's saying that we should get rid of any bad thoughts or actions related to sex, like wanting things that aren't ours or being obsessed with wanting more.
Then, 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body." It's advising us to run away from any situations that might make us want to do something wrong sexually. It also explains that when we do wrong in this way, we are hurting ourselves in a way that's different from other types of wrongdoing.
Hebrews 13:4 talks about respecting marriage and keeping the marriage bed pure, meaning that we should be faithful to our husbands or wives and not let anything come between our relationship with them. It also reminds us that God will judge those who are unfaithful or do things that are sexually wrong.
Matthew 5:28 tells us that even thinking about being intimate with someone who isn't our spouse is just as bad as doing it. It's about understanding that our thoughts can be just as powerful and important as our actions.
These verses come together to stress that while it's natural to have strong feelings at this age, it's important to respect ourselves and others by keeping our thoughts and actions in check. This is because our bodies and the intimacy we share with others are meant to be valued and respected.
Now that you have realized, I will guide you to stop sinning, I have more verses to share with you that will help you.
Romans 3:23 (NIV) - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
1 John 1:8 (NIV) - "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."
Romans 6:23 (NIV) - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:14 (NIV) - "For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace."
Galatians 5:16 (NIV) - "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) - "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
Romans 3:23 says that everyone has done things that are wrong and have not lived up to God's perfect standard. It's telling us that nobody is perfect.
1 John 1:8 emphasizes that if we claim to be without sin, we're only fooling ourselves. It's important to be honest about our mistakes and not pretend to be better than we really are.
Romans 6:23 explains that the consequence of doing wrong things, or sinning, is very serious - it can lead to death. But it also speaks about the amazing gift from God, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ, meaning that through Jesus, we can be saved from the punishment for our sins.
Romans 6:14 assures us that when we follow Jesus, sin no longer controls us. We're not judged based on strict rules, but rather we live in God's grace and love.
Galatians 5:16 advises us to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which means trying to live the way God wants us to live. When we do that, we won't be controlled by our own selfish desires.
1 Corinthians 10:13 comforts us by explaining that we're not alone in facing temptations. God is faithful and won't allow us to face more than we can handle. He will provide a way for us to resist temptation and make the right choices.
The reason for Jesus' death is to save us from the punishment of our sins. His sacrifice shows God's incredible love for us, and through his death and resurrection, we have the opportunity to receive forgiveness and eternal life. Jesus took the punishment for our sins upon himself so that we can have a chance to be forgiven and live in God's love. It's a powerful reminder that no matter what we've done, God is willing to forgive us if we sincerely ask for it and try to live according to His teachings.
