Subject Incident Report- Break-in and Disturbance at Greenwood cemetery

On Febuary 18th, 1999 approximately 12:34 a.m., a break-in and disturbance were reported at Greenwood Cemetery, I responded to the call and arrived at the scene at approximately 1:32 a.m.

Upon the arrival, I met the reporting party, who stated that they witnessed an individual breaking into the cemetery and digging up graves. The witness reported that they immediately called emergency services but before the authorities arived, the suspect fled the scene on foot escaping any apprehension.

Investigation and Actions taken:

Upon arrival at the scene, I conducted a preliminary investigation. I observed that two exactly disturbed grave sites where soil have been dug up, indicating recent disturbance. I also interviewed the witness and gathered relevant information regarding this suspect's appearance and direction of escape.

I conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area, but due to the suspect's timely escape, I was unable to locate or apprehend them. However, I ensured the preservation of the crime scene, collection potential evidence such as footprints, tool marks, and any other trace evidence that could aid in the investigation.

I also contacted the Greenwood Cemetery staff and informed them of the incident. They provided access to cemetery records and indicated their willingness to cooperate fully in the investigation. CCTV footage from nearby surveillance camera is being reviewed to identity any additional evidence related to the incident.

Conclusion:

The incident at Greenwood Cemetery involved a break-in and disturbance where an individual was seen digging up graves. Despite immediate response and search efforts, the suspect managed to escape prior to apprehension.
