Idk why my mom is still telling me that I need to be friends with at least one person in my class

I know I have to make a good friend or two, but the only people I can think of who are nice are

The only time they talk to me is when I have to be inserted into their group because no one wants me in theirs, but they need one more person
And even then they still leave me out and then complain that I'm not helping when they're not even telling me what's going on-
And, I DID try to make friends during the first few months of school
And I got shy and made it awkward
Because I've been friendless for 3 years when my only friend left primary school early, and I forgot how to interact with people irl because of covid
