It’s horrible to cut yourself in a house where nobody cares- but to cut yourself in a house where everyone cares is horrifying. I’m constantly keeping a secret I can’t even wrap my own head around. My mom doesn’t know, not yet. But I don’t know how long I can keep this secret up for. “Why are you wearing a hoodie?” It’s comfy. “It’s too hot to wear that, you know.” Change the subject. It’s exhausting in a way that makes you feel terrible for keeping this from them, but that’s what you wanted, right? You wanted to feel something, even if it rips you apart slowly from the inside out. And if that means risking it all, so be it. You signed up for this. You asked for this.
