chinese is a pictographic language, meaning that the character is inspired by a real world object or thought一think of chinese as modern day hieroglyphics.
look at "人" (person) for example, the meaning behind it would be a person walking on two legs. another example would be "口" (mouth), symbolizing an open mouth.
some more examples would be...
- "氵" (water), drops of water
- "木" (tree), literally just a tree
- "中" (middle), an axe cutting a log down the middle

"oh but mister sigmafartballs you beautiful handsome man, how would you draw ideas like feelings if you can't see them?"
well kind stranger it's drawn out with radicals like "心/忄" (heart), imagery (like the past examples), or a combination of the two.
an example of ex.1 would be "快" (happiness). "快" is a compound of radicals "忄" (heart) and "夬" (fast), meaning that when you're happy your heart beats fast.

i wrote all of this myself so there's probably grammatical errors. i don't know why im teaching another language when i hardly know my native one
