I am beyond certain that you do not deserve night Terrors! Your brain is just trying to process what you've been through, that's all. Don't condemn yourself
Without diving into medications, over the counter melatonin can help change the pace of your dreams, and keep you from waking up during the night. A cup of chamomile or lavender tea before bed might help you relax, and get into a better state of mind. Same goes for nightly meditation.
